This is my portfolio website that includes my digital, photography, and traditional work. With this website potential clients and companies can see my work. This way they can decide if I am a good fit for their brand or project.
These are the two personas of potential clients that I created. The first one is looking for a cover design for her new book that she wants to publish. The second one is looking to commission or hire someone to handle branding and advertising for their company.
This is my sight map and wireframes. I wanted the viewer to be able to access a digital portfolio page, a traditional artwork portfolio page, a photography page, and an about me page. This is the plan that I originally began with, but as I started to code I moved somethings around. That being said this is the foundation that my site will still follow. I wanted originally to do a gallery style with my wire frames, but with the template I used I found that listing the images and having them stand out was the best solution.
These were the designs that I had started off with. I wanted something clean and professional, but also had pops of color. As I went on with this project I encountered issues with this design and had to adjust it in order to make it work. I struggled with getting my images to line up and move correctly when the screen expanded. I think this was because I separated too many images. I should have grouped them into one category so they all would be effected by the same css.
After going to the "Look Ma No Code" workshop at SUNY New Paltz's Design Week, I was given access to a website portfolio template. I found that it was much easier for me to understand and get the professional design I wanted for my website. I then went back to Figma to replan my design based on the assets that were provided to me from the template. Here I made sure that everything was clear and easy to read.
